The Art of Speaking: Scott Hanselman

After giving my latest talk last night on the Windows 8 XAML story, I thought I would do a little review of the Scott Hanselman’s TekPub video on The Art of Speaking.  Why?  Truthfully, so that I would have a baseline to come back and review further down the road and I thought a few people might be interested as well.

Houston Tech Fest 2011–Slides

Houston Tech Fest was another great time this year.  The event continues to grow every year and there was right about 1000 folks there this year.  I had a lot of great conversations with attendees and received a ton of feedback on people’s thoughts about Silverlight, Windows 8, etc.  I want to thank everyone who came to one of my sessions and a special thanks to the few who suffered thru all 3.

Here are the slide decks for my 3 sessions.  Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or want to continue any conversations.

Look forward to seeing everyone next year or at a UG meeting around town.

Designing for Windows Phone 7–D2SIG Talk

I had a great time speaking at the Device Developer SIG (D2SIG – http://d2sig.org) last night on “Designing for Windows Phone 7”.  Seems a lot of folks also had Windows 8 on their mind so we were able to have a good conversation around Win 8 as well.  As promised, here is a link to my slide deck:

VS Live 2011 Redmond

Next week I get the honor to speak at “The Mothership” during VS Live 2011 – Redmond.  If you haven’t checked it out, there is an impressive line-up of speakers (not quite sure how I got on this list) talking about all of the latest Microsoft technologies.  Did I mention that it was being held on the Microsoft campus? :)

If you are planning on attending the conference, make sure you find me and say hi.  I will be speaking on the Silverlight PivotViewer and WP7 Instrumentation.  There are a ton of great sessions to check out and I’m excited about seeing several of them myself.

Houston Tech Fest Presentations

I had a great time presenting at Houston Tech Fest this weekend.  As promised, below is a link to all of my presentations and the demos we covered during them.

The one change is, that due to size, the MIX 10 Collection data is not included in the PivotViewer demos.  I have moved the collection to be hosted and will post another entry detailing the post.  However, I did update the Uri’s in the projects to point to the new location of the data.

I really enjoyed the comments and questions during and after the sessions.  Please feel free to let me know if you have additional questions and things you would like to go over.
